Buy 1, Pay for 2 more.
By: Ida NoThe other day, I was at the grocery store. I was in need of a thermometer. In front of the thermometers for sale, there was a sign that read, “Only one per customer.” I was also in need of some toilet paper. Again, a sign that read, “Only one per customer.” I stood in the toilet paper isle daydreaming about bears singing, “My hiney’s clean… cuz…. I’m Charmin clean…”
After getting over my daydream, I landed in the the soda isle (or Pop or Coke isle, depending on where you originate), and there was a sign that said, “Buy 2, Get 1 Free”. I am so confused. I thought to myself, this is not how capitalism works. This is not how America works. Why can I buy as much soda, or pop, or coke, as I want, even more than I want, but I can’t buy as much toilet paper or thermometers as I want? Then I remembered that there is a coronavirus pandemic. Here’s an idea. You want toilet paper? Buy 1, Pay for the Next 2 (for the next customers who need toilet paper). That is how we should be. Let’s start working together and helping each other out.
