For the 150 big ones! Pennies, that is.
By: Helen A. HandbasketWashington, D.C. - The Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, can't be accused of not having empathy for the less fortunate. Recently, he proved that he has a heart of cold...oops, I mean of "gold"... when he tweeted about a librarian who now has an extra $1.50 per week to spend all thanks to the Republican's tax cuts.
Just how far does one hundred fifty pennies go? Based on a few sale items in this week's grocery store flyer, the lucky librarian could buy one loaf of bread or one container of sour cream or three packages of pasta. Big whoop, Paul.
According to Congressman, Joe Kennedy, 0.1% of the wealthiest Americans will have an extra $3000 in their pockets. They could buy 2000 loaves of bread or 2000 containers of sour cream or 6000 packages of pasta. Thanks, Paul for giving the "have mores" even more.
