Trump's Hoax

Here are just a few of the things Trump has said regarding the coronavirus:

• “This is their new hoax.”
• Regarding a cruise ship docking in Oakland, CA with sick people aboard, "I like the numbers being where they are. I don't need to have the numbers double because of one ship that wasn't our fault."
• “I don't take responsibility at all.”
• Regarding a reporter who asked, “What do you say to Americans who are scared?" Trump’s response was, “I say that you are a terrible reporter.”
• To governors of all 50 states regarding getting needed medical equipment, “Try getting it yourselves.”

People are sick and dying. The stock market is tanking. Millions are watching their retirement savings disappear right before their eyes. Millions are losing their jobs.

I don’t blame the virus on Trump. But the chaos, panic, mismanagement, and confusion is his fault. First, he attempted to cut funding to the CDC and in 2018 he cut officials in charge of the U.S. response to pandemics (exactly who we need right now). Second, he ignored and minimized warnings about this virus back in January. And finally, he continues to lie and contradict the experts creating confusion for many Americans.

Ok, so up until now the economy has been good and unemployment down. For those reasons to those folks out there who could look past Trump’s constant lying, his filthy mouth, the personal insults, the name calling, the racism, the misogyny, breaking the law, enriching himself while in public office, and all the other horrible things he does that are unbecoming of the presidency, what do you have to say now?
